Set your truck alarm

With my Chev 2500 HD parked in driveway , With lights on both sides, 30 foot from bedroom, Some scum took a screwdriver and hammer and just as easy as can be "popped" the key mechanism in and got into my truck. All they got was old GPS, likely looking for pistol(lifted, 4 wheel dr.) The handles are all plastic now and so easy to break into. If I had of just not been lazy and complacent and set the truck alarm, it might of turned out different, the parts dealer said they are selling alot of new handles for same reason. So just a reminder-Set your alarm-always.

My weld supply guy had his truck broke into (not a chevy, but similar truck that will remain anonymous lol) . Apparently these trucks you can "bump" the keyhole, not even break it, just give it a good tap and it will bump the lock open, wont set off the factory alarm or anything.... They took a lot of his stuff he uses for work, laptop etc. relocked his door and he didnt even know until he realized all the important stuff missing at his next stop :dontknow: sucks bigtime!

The plastic door handles on some chevy trucks suck. Was working in Atlanta in locked my keys in the truck in a bad area at night-long story short I discovered that if you get mad and jerk on the handle hard enough the whole dang deal will pop off and expose the inside-just pull the lock mechanism up and your in. This was an 03 silverado.

last week at 1:45 am i heard a scum trying to see if my doors were unlocked on my truck. by the time i opened the front door with the dogs they ran like hell. my catahoula was gone for 15 min then came back. i think the scum learned to stay away.

Check out a product called Jimmy Jammers, I installed them on my Ford super duty after being broke into several times with a hammer and screw driver, I haven't tested them but if they work as promised its well worth installing them, they go inside the door behind the handle and are supposed the stop the screw driver trick from working.
