I was serious about wanting to hear from you with CONSTRUCTIVE comments about how FWC can make this emergency closure process more painless for us and all boaters.
I asked last week for BIshop Wright and me to meet with them and see if we could make some changes to either their criteria or any other part of this process. They are more than willing to do that.
We have a positive chance to try to make positive changes to a system which really needs to be in place to protect all boaters and homeowners.
I pray we do not need to go through this again, but if we do, I want us to have calmly weighed in and provided input when all of us are not in the middle of an emergency and not thinking as clearly as we might otherwise do.
Remember, also, that FWC has to get buy in from all other branches of law enforcement in whatever counties are affected -- sheriffs; maybe city police depts; certainly Coast Guard -- so it's a large undertaking that they are coordinating.

:wink: It was extended about three years ago you will have the whole month October to harvest your (2) alligators good luck. :wink: FWC realized that the alligator hunting season was in the middle hurricane season and they were proactive by extending the season for reasons just like this.
:idea: well maybe the proactive part was part of the reacted part from conservationists (sportsmen's club's) pushing to fix a little problem like we always do.
