They can put 'em in there at an angle...and a little vaseline.

Vaseline just might do the trick...coat that baby in cooking spray haha!

Hi, Guys,

Yes, having the airboat in a 20 footer may be a small problem, as i need a wide boat for stability, and
if we put the airboat sideways, wont the cage hit the sides of the container?

Anyway when i am in florida i will let the seller figure out how to fit the airboat into the container. or may even try RORO
method.

Have you had any experience in having a stainless steel bottom as opposed to a polymer at the bottom?

Cheers.

Just about all of the larger manufacturers can install "heavy duty" bottom. Diamondback did for the border patrol boats and I know Panther does for a dealer in TX. They call it the TX package with approx. a .380 aluminum bottom, extra t-bars and inverted t-bar on top of those. Very stout.

Also, with a cr you can get away with a 7.5 width boat because you have no torque. Remember, hull displacement can come in two forms: Width or length. If you are going to container it, try to get a boat as long as you can fit while staying 7.5 wide. A 19' to 20' x 7.5 wide boat with a LS will float like a cork as long as you keep the weight down on the rigging.

Hi, Gaffney.,

I guess when it comes to a crunch i would have no choice as i would need to take a 7.5 x 18.
and build the trailer back home. I would need to ship some basic parts as well since the container can
fill up a bit.

As along as the DB or Panther can have a heavy duty bottom, preferably metal or polymer i am ok, the
corals in the sea is very unforgiving if you ever come into contact with them and
I have seen a 40 footer hull cut up very badly as it accidentally went up on the coral, you could almost
see the inside of the boat!

would electrolysis be a problem since i am running it in saltwater?

I think a 3 point seat belt would be something i need too for the wife and kids to avoid flying off the airboat,
what do you think?

I intend also to have the polymer or stainless steel also come up the side of the hull to avoid some serious scratches,
what do you think?

Application of an anti slip on the front of the hull and parts of the interior would be good too, i have seen a posting on this .

I am just playing it safe given the speed of the airboat and the need to make a fast run when we are suddenly hit by a tropical storm, i would need to beach the airboat ASAP.

Appreciate any advice.....Cheers!
