Working on the site this weekend...

Gonna be trying out a new gallery solution. I've been testing it for awhile and it's the best alternative I've been able to find.

As I've posted in previous threads, the original gallery is not supported by it's programmers anymore. That means it's gonna quit working at some point because they don't provide updates to the gallery script. Without updates, the gallery will not function with the server & forum software which has to be kept up to date for security & performance reasons.

For now, the original gallery will be kept in tact as an archive, but will not accept uploads. The plan is to keep it around in that manner as long as possible...maybe indefinitely if we can find a programmer to patch it up going forward.

Once I get it up & running, give it a try. Uploading is pretty simple and can be done from most pages on the site, but not the forum pages unfortunately.

Regarding the new gallery -->

What file extensions are allowed ? (.jpg .bmp .png etc.)
What is the size limit ? Is it the same for all file types ?
Is there some kind of auto-resizing going on?
This shouldn't be difficult. I must have woke up dumb.

I am trying to post some screen dumps, and they are being squashed to the extent that it is no longer readable.
I have some very interesting info to share, but it's massive volume precludes my re-typing all of it.
They are currently .jpg files which contain text (which shouldn't matter). I've also tried .png files with the same lack of results.

How do I conquer this?

File types for the gallery are: jpg, jpeg, png, gif

The gallery has always automatically resized images. Otherwise we couldn't afford the disk space. It takes them down to 1024px either direction.

Have you tried attaching the image to a post? That should create a smaller image in the forum that is clickable to view larger.

If you want to email them to me, I'll try to come up with some kind of work around: [email protected]
