Hey Don, realized you said 16 gauge wire, I would recommend a little heavier, probably 12. Ive got 14, trying to be light and even it is breaking off in spots, vibration ya know. Probably redo my wire in the coming months, just hoping to save ya some hassle later on.

using 12 gauge this time around as well, wasnt sure about the difference between stainless and inexpensive galvanized wire.

Yobee/ Watersports: My bad! I know nothing about wire sizes or gauges. Only inches and feet. I know what a 20ga, 16 ga. 12 ga. and a 10gauge (which I never shot is). But wire sizes, not so. The wire scraps I got from Marshlands for my tote cage, were 14 ga and he told me to go bigger for the cage wire. 16 sounds bigger to me :D . It will be thicker and heavier wire. That 14ga. was easy enough to MIG or TIG though. this being SA I hope they don't stone me for my mistake
Don

It's all good with me LOL! When talking gauge it's the same as a shotgun, rather have a 12 than a 20 LOL! Yeah 14 ain't too bad to weld, but it is a little more brittle and in my experience cracks pretty quick, considering the setup you got, your boat isn't gonna be a water boat anymore and it's gonna get shook up climbing the mountains HAHA!

Really looking good, mine is in Fairbanks with Skip getting the bottom redone, but my cage will never look that good. Do you plan to paint the cage or leave it shiny. Bud

Bud only thing shiny is that gas pedal       RIGHT DON!? LOL!

AKblackdawg: I have to scotch-brite all the polished stainless to rough it up and then camo it. And Yobee I am looking for a camoflauge sock to put over my gas pedal  . I just can't paint it, or the redrive or the new hub  .Questioning--Are them duck really worth it   Don
