Great races, good to see a decent turnout this time. That hawk boat was on point!!! Didn't see the nitro express run other than practice... And Pete boat was running the best I've seen in a while!!! Ill post pics soon

Glad to hear the turn out was great and everyone seemed to be safe for the most part.. But I really expected more updates and talk about the races, maybe later tonight or tomorrow when everyone is home.. Congratulations to the winners

pete perterson won modified and after the ruckus over unlimited winner LOL he took second in unlimited terrible what happened to witchcraft ... burns hurt like hell I am sure someone who can get the facts straight will post what happened but the intake tubes melted and fuel and nitrous got all over the driver ... He is ok but got burned some ...

All in all some very good competitive racing today ...

As I said weeks ago,,, I have yet to win unlimited and not be protested accept one time at Lake George against one one of the Hoffmans. I'm so over this!

Thunder it was good to see ya out there today .. twistin wrenches on Hawkzilla just like old times .. looked like you lost a little weight though ... You know not to let the haters get to ya man .. there will always be haters people hated my briggs for gettin 9.9 mpg and runnin 38mph in a 1000000 feet LOL so now we have ecotecs gettin 16 mpg and running 69.2 mph in 400' hell next thing ya know somebody is gonna have a boat running a 100 in 400 and actually making fuel ..

Cntry141 looks like we broke the crank and not sure exactly what caused it but the throttle body stuck open and kept feeding nitrous and fuel and it torched out the front of the intake tubes and burned through my shirt and life vest into my back, shoulders and the back of my arms. I'm ok but in quite a bit of pain! Thank god it wasn't any worse! A fire suit is on the top of my list along with some motor parts. Lol

My too now, glad you are ok. Dont forget to milk it with the new bride!!

The race was much better run, boats staged fast no calling on the intercom for 15 mins, but in the end bunch of the crowd had left becasue of delay that was no fault of the race a mudder was hit in the head by a strap snatching out stuck truck so had to shut down the race for a hour waiting on helio to come and go and ems to come back

Hammerhead got burned when his fuel burned a hole thru the pipes or crank broke first and he got lite up by it scary but he is ok does have burns on his back and arms, nitro and race fuel is no joke bet ya see more fire suits at the next one, EMS guys did a nice job of getting to him as he got out and dove in the water on fire but as you know cannot see the flames.

But do not read into the hipe good turnout, hell airboaters racing and buggy folks watch a little while and left to go play $40.00 a head not going to get it, had less than 20 boats the best I could count and took 500 pics so when they get up on flickr you can see alot of the race

But congrats and thanks to all the racer for putting on a good show and racing hard and man glad HH is ok scary, I got pics coming up on flickr but take awhile only 500 :D :D :D so I pretty sure got everyone so maybe by tommorrow am they will all be up, by the way watch the left lane and how everyone nose dived off the ramp, unlimited both ramps but the left was dog

Would like to thank all the racers for putting on a great show , and putting it all on the line for real. The quality of racing far exceded the organization of event. I used to race 20 years ago and was deeply depressed that the advancement of the sport has been minimal . The quality of the racing is top shelf , but its 2013 , these guys deserve electronic timing , wireless communication between pit stewards and officials. It was an all day event for 20 boats , they used to run more boats than that in the hunt boat class alone. If this sport is ever going to be taken seriously it has to come of age. Running nitro and the exotic fuels , drivers seated lower than the engine and no requirement of safety suits. There was one very lucky driver today. I traveled 4 hours to support these drivers and teams today , they deserve better than this, I 've seen more support at a little league game. We were talking to some buggy people that were watching races for the first time. They loved the speed of the boats but felt that there was no continuity or flow to the event. These are the very people we need to have support this sport.
Racers , thank you for your blood ,sweat and tears , it took to be there today , to put on the show you did. I hope one day there will be strict rules and support equipment to reward you for your efforts.

Hamma.......was that you in the accident?

Glad to hear there was such a great turnout. Hammer head sorry to see that happen. It has always amazed me that they set all of theses ruled for the boats and not really much for the drivers. I mean a helmet and life vest Is all they require. I think once you start in the modified classes the driver should have to wear fire jackets and full helmets at least. And all classes drivers must wear pants shirts and shoes. If we really want this sport to go somewhere then they need to start working more towards safety. It sucks it takes someone getting hurt before we realize there is a problem.

Yes that was me. I talked to danny bell about a year ago on the phone and he mentioned fire control to me at the time and I didn't do anything to protect myself. Nobody's fault but my own. It will be in place before I sit mt azz in that boat again. It was just before a major fire in the boat!

Well don't put the blame on yourself hammer. It's should be up to the sanctioning body to make it a requirement. I hope they look at rules and safety before the next race and stick to them! I would hate to see someone get hurt again. Let's face it if they don't require it most people aren't gonna do it.
