Redfish Reports

I also went yesterday. Had the opposite of Andy. Caught fish all day. 10 slots and lots of cobbs. Stay just north of HWY 40. Didn’t venture way back in any creeks. I thought the same as he found, lots of freshwater after the two big rains. Good luck to those that go and Merry Christmas to everyone!

Went out today. Tide never really came in. Had to abuse the boat a little bit. Caught a lot of shorts and 3 in the slot. Nothing crazy. Brought home a 21&22”. Looking froward to next time.

We fished Sat. Our fishing has really slowed. We only caught 2 keeper trout, no shorts and a few reds. When we got bait we actually caught a bunch of pins so that says the water has warmed up quit a bit. Hopefully cooler weather and less rain and things will get back to the norm!!!!

We went North both sat and sun, tide as supper low and very rough on the poly but we had great luck both days. Found a few holes with a number of mid slot fish and a few top of the slot with 2 over slot. Found 3 trout each day all over 18". Was windy and cold sat. The wind backed off and was nice an sunny on Sunday.

Good to see a few reports put up.
I have been out plenty and most trips for reds have been lots of Cobb’s and a few keepers each trip. The trout fishing a bit further out has been super outstanding with the warmer weather, big trout still slamming plugs. Due to the slow redfishing I have been still slamming tarpon and big snook with ease. They have taken the majority of my fishing time this year with the warm winter. Hopefully cooler weather settles in and reshuffles the redfishing so I can get to the backcountry fishing.

I went last Friday morning. I think I was the only one out. Caught a decent amount of fish with four slots. Water is definitely warmer and fishing has slowed in the creeks. Have been fishing south of the ramp lately, doing well. It was some kind of windy. Got off the water before the rain. Water seems to still be running out of the woods in a few creeks I checked to the north. Lots of pressure on the fish over the holidays. With the cooler weather coming hopefully it’ll pick back up. Good luck to those that go.

Great day today. Caught 18 nice slot fish. Lost a few big ones. Lots of cobbs. Hopefully the cooler weather will stay awhile.

North of 40 but not to far. Water has been really clear the last couple of weeks. If it stays clear in the next couple of weeks I might trying gigging mullet and sheepshead. We only fished a couple spots and those were only a couple hundred yards apart. Steady bite for a few hours. Saw only one other boat and one on the trailer leaving.

Our fishing is still marginal, I’ve resorted to picking up rocks Haha.

We fished saturday. Went north, was ok a lot of 14-16 inch fish but only 3 mid slot and 1 small trout. Another very low tide day.

Still had a good time with friends.

Well we made what is more than likely our last Airboat trip on Tuesday. The Trout were few but quality, but we tore the reds up. Lots of rats and 12-15 top slot fish, time to hop in the Hewes, Catch you guys this fall. Tight lines
